In addition, each Legend and Superstar will boast a distinctive and highly stylized appearance, adding to the overall atmosphere and intrepid attitude exuding from the on-screen action. It was released on Main North America and Apin Europe The game features current and former WWE wrestlers competing in fast-paced wrestling matches. Not fun at allThis was a reaaly bad and sad send off in the wrestling department for the ps2.
WWE All-Stars is available now for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PSP and PlayStation 2.This was a reaaly bad and sad send off in the wrestling department for the ps2. While there were some parts of the game that could have been improved, it is overall a fun, enjoyable experience. Definitely one of the game’s strong points.įinal Thoughts: WWE All-Stars is a refreshing take on the wrestling genre and offers an incredible cast of legends and superstars alike. The simple controls helps because anyone can pick up the game and go, especially considering the level of competition you encounter on other games online. Getting to play as your favorite superstars from years past and beating up on your friends’ favorite wrestlers is some of the most fun you can have in any WWE game. Playing against friends is always the best part of any fighting game, and WWE All-Stars is no exception.
The Multiplayer: Multiplayer is where I personally had the most fun. Aside from this issue, the ring commentary and crowd sounds are very good, so overally I’d say the audio was good (but could have been great)
We do not get the whoel video that accompanies it nor do we get the full song. Yes there is entrance music for every superstar, but that’s about it. It should have been crucial that in a game driven by legends and superstars that the entrance music and videos find their way into the game IN THEIR ENTIRETY (note the caps). One of the lures of wrestling and a major part as to why fans like certain superstars is the entrance music/video. Here is where I feel that the game could have been great, but fell just short. I wish I could say the same about the audio.
The atmosphere, visually, was without a doubt a job well-done. These aspects certainly work and add to the overall unique experience that All-Stars is looking to provide. The vibrant colors add to the game’s overall arcade feel and they definitely let gamers know that they are not playing just any old wrestling game. The wrestlers look more like cartoon characters than actual people with massive muscles and animated facial expressions/reactions. The Graphics/Audio: Graphically, WWE All-Stars is one stylish game. Once your opponents energy is depleted you can either go for the pin or continue to deliver the punishment until they are KO’d. For example, Stone Cold will leap 20 feet into the air to deliver a Stone Cold Stunner or HHH will slam his opponents face into the mat with a pedigree. Both the signature and finishing moves trigger high-flying, jaw-dropping cinematics. Once you have filled your meter enough, you will be able to pull off a superstar’s signature move followed by that superstar’s finishing move. In many ways, the game’s simplicity when it comes to the control system is a welcome change and even pays tribute to the classic wrestling games from older console generations (think Wrestlmania 2000 and No Mercy.Īs you pummel your opponent, you will watch as your finisher meter fills and their health gauge drops. You have two basic ways of attacking your opponent, striking or grappling, again all of which can be done with relative ease. The game controls very smoothly and almost every single move and combination can be pulled off by pressing a single face button. The Gameplay: Everything about this game is designed to be simple and has more of an arcade-type feel to it, which goes along perfectly with the game’s over-the-top graphics. It’s a nice part of the game but the real bulk of the game’s draw will be the exhibition modes and Fantasy Warfare mode where gamers can create incredible matches that pit the all-time greats against members of today’s roster. Story mode is pretty entertaining as you work your way through the cast of legends and current superstars and see some enjoyable cutscenes featuring characters like Paul Bearer.
The Story: There are three different paths you can take when playing the Path of Champions mode, each one comprised of a series of matches eventually leading up to a title match against either The Undertaker (circa 1990’s), D-Generation X or Randy Orton.
